At its heart, the 450MT is powered by a 449.5 cc parallel-twin engine. This liquid-cooled, DOHC unit features a 270° crankshaft angle, which provides a distinctive sound and a power delivery similar to a V-twin engine, prioritizing torque at lower rpm over peak horsepower. It delivers 31 kW (41.6 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 44 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. Dual balance shafts mean every throttle twist is met with smooth acceleration and even power, greatly reducing engine vibration and rider fatigue even on the longest rides. A 6-speed wet, multi-plate transmission with a CF-SC slipper clutch ensures smooth gear changes and reduces rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifts. Fueling is managed by Bosch EFI.
The 450MT features a meticulously engineered tubular steel frame, constructed from the same durable material as larger adventure touring bikes. This frame is optimized to amplify the off-road prowess of the 450MT, guaranteeing stability while maintaining a lightweight profile, with a dry weight of 175 kg. Suspension duties are handled by advanced KYB components: a 41mm upside-down front fork offers 200mm of travel with adjustable compression and damping, while a multi-link KYB monoshock at the rear also provides 200mm of travel with adjustable preload, compression, and rebound. This setup ensures a smooth and controlled ride, allowing you to tackle diverse terrains with ease and confidence.
Braking is confident and powerful thanks to a J.Juan braking system. The front brake features a 320mm single disc cradled by an opposed four-piston radial caliper, while the rear has a 240mm single disc with a single-piston floating caliper. Bosch dual-channel ABS provides enhanced stability, with the rear wheel ABS being switchable via a handlebar-mounted button for more control in off-road situations. The 450MT rides on durable spoked alloy wheels (21-inch front, 18-inch rear) with tubeless CST dual-sport tyres, providing excellent grip and stability on rough terrain.
Equipped with a full LED lighting system, the 450MT ensures superior visibility in all conditions. The rally-inspired styling includes distinctive stacked headlights. A 5-inch curved TFT display provides crystal-clear visuals and intuitive controls, supporting MotoPlay screen projection and offering Over-The-Air (OTA) functionality for wireless updates.
